    • Though Realist philosophy takes many forms, the basic idea of Realism is that what we perceive as being outside of us IS actually what is there. This conflicts with the Materialism that is most commonly believed today, which says that all of our perceptions, thoughts, feelings, memories, etc. are actually only chemistry in our brains. The Christian view says that God made us so that we can accurately perceive the world around us, which is as He made it. So it is that the great Astronomer Johannes Kepler described the task of doing Science as “thinking God’s thoughts after Him”.
